NBAShoe.com Review – Alright, I know what you’re thinking… “NBAShoe.com?  Well that sounds sketchy!”  You’re right.  It does.  Not because there is only 1 shoe, instead of “shoes,” but also because the site and the checkout process.  I recently made a large purchase from NBAShoe.com and thought I would share my experience with all of you.

-

I wrote a review for Jersey101.com in the past, which many people found helpful.  The different between that and NBAShoe.com, is that NBAShoe is about 50% cheaper!  The NFL jerseys are only $22!!!  The catch is that the shipping is expensive.  The jerseys are made in China, which is why they’re so cheap, but the shipping is $25.50.  However, if you purchase over $150 worth of jerseys/goods, the shipping will be free.

-

My recommendation is if you want a couple jerseys that look authentic, this is the best site out there.  Also, try to see if any friends want jerseys too because that free shipping is a great option if you can get an order that large.

-

Quality:  The quality is awesome.  Some jerseys are better than others.  My “Foster” jersey is MINT!  The thing looks authentic and 100% identical.  The other jerseys are as close as you can get.  The logos are a little sloppy, but you really can’t tell unless you’re up close and actually studying it.

-

Size:  I got Size 50, which is like a Medium/Large.  I’m 6 feet tall and 180 pounds and the 50 fits perfectly.

-

Payment:  The payment was very easy.  I just asked to use my PayPal account and they sent me an invoice email linking directly to PayPal.

-

Shipping:  Takes 7-10 business days.  My jerseys arrived 7 days after I ordered them.

If you have any specific questions, just ask them in the comments section and I will get back to you ASAP!

It’s been a pretty crazy season with the Red Sox tanking and teams like the Orioles, Nationals, and Athletics making it to October.  I don’t expect this craziness to stop throughout the MLB Playoffs either…

-

Play In Games

Rangers vs Orioles:  With the Rangers falling apart and getting caught by the Athletics in the last game of the season, I anticipate the Rangers to be in full panic mode and getting upset by the Batlimore Orioles.  I won’t be surprised if it was an extra innings victory either seeing as the Orioles have won 16 straight extra inning games in a row (1 behind the record set by the Cleveland Indians in 1949).  There’s something about the Orioles this year and I like them winning the play-in game on October 7th.  Orioles win 5-4 in 10 innings.

Cardinals vs Braves:  It’s EXTREMELY difficult to repeat a World Series Championship and I don’t see the Cardinals having it this year.  There’s some magic in Atlanta and people want to see Chipper Jones, who announced that he was retiring after this season, go out on top.  ATL wins this one 4-2.

-

1st Round

A’s vs Tigers:  As impressive as the A’s have been this season, I can’t see them taking a full series with The Triple Crown Winner and the Tigers rolling right now.  As impressive as Miggy has been this season, the rest of the roster is pretty stacked as well.  Scherzer is spot on and the pitchers are getting run support.  In the end, the A’s don’t have the pitching depth, to hang with the Tiger’s lineup.  Tigers take this series.

Yankees vs Orioles/Rangers:  I really thought we were going to witness an epic collapse in September like the Red Sox did last year, but the Yankees hung-on finishing 1 game ahead of the Orioles.  Although the Yankees pitching staff isn’t that impressive their lineup is on fire at the moment lead by Cano, who is on a 9-game multi-hit streak!  In the last two weeks, Cano is 27/63 with 14 Runs, 3 HRs, and 16 RBIs.  If he can carry that into the playoffs, the Yankees should make it past the 1st round.  Yankees win vs Orioles/Rangers.

Giants vs Reds:  A very even matchup here with the Giants relying more on pitching and the Reds on hitting.  I see a series as close as you can get with the Reds sneaking away and moving on to the NLCS.  Reds defeat Giants.

Nationals vs Braves/Cardinals:  If the Nationals drop this series, you know reports are going to be non-stop talking about Strasburg and how he would’ve changed the outcome.  I don’t see it making that big of a difference.  The Nationals have a great team, but there’s something about the Braves this year where I see them defeating the Nationals if they make it past the Cardinals.  Braves defeat Nationals, OR Nationals defeat Cardinals.

ALCS:  Yankees vs Tigers

NLCS:  Braves vs Reds

World Series Prediction

-

Tigers vs Braves

This would be an amazing matchup with plenty of drama to back it up:  Chipper Jones Retirement, Miggy’s Triple Crown, Medlen’s come-back from Tommy-John and being the Ace, Fielder’s 1st year with the Tigers…. the list goes on.  I’d love to see these two teams go head-to-head in a 7 game series.  If both teams stay healthy, I could see the Braves pulling this off.

Playing baseball my entire life, I get questions all the time about what people can do to improve their game or their kid’s game.  I’ve played in AAU National Championships, High School State Championships, and in 2008 won an NCAA National Championship.  After college, injuries kept me from pursuing my ultimate goal of playing in the MLB.  Even though I can’t make it to The Show, I’d love to share my knowledge and give my baseball advice so others can improve their skills and have a better shot at making it big.

-

-

One of my coaches used to always say: “If playing baseball was easy, everyone would do it.”  It’s a funny game and it’s certainly not for everyone.  One thing that has always been true ever since tee ball is no matter how old you are, you can always improve your game in some way.  It’s not like other sports where you either have it or you don’t.  Certainly you need a starting point, but in baseball your training and dedication can take you to new levels.  The problem most people have is they don’t know what that training is exactly.

Baseball scouts look at baseball players and evaulate the 5 Tools:

-

1.  Hitting for Average

2.  Hitting for Power

3.  Baserunning Skills and Speed

4.  Throwing Ability

5.  Fielding Abilities

-

The training for each of these tools is VERY different and a lot of it is based on what position you play.  Some players make think they are a “5 Tool Player” (having it all), but those are EXTREMELY rare.  Players like Josh Hamilton and Bryce Harper are 5 Tool Players.  If you can play like them, no need to read further.  If you can’t play like them (yet), you’ll want to view the following training secrets.  I have a lot of connections in the baseball industry and I’d like to share each of these opportunities with you.

-

Depending on what position you or your child is, will depend on which program you’d like to get involved in.  Please use the below links to get connected with the best professionals and programs.

Get 5-10 MPH on your fastball here:

Increase Pitching Velocity

Every pitcher, no matter what level, could use more speed on the fastball.  It’s your go to pitch.  Once you get to the high school level and beyond, an increase of even 5 MPH could change you from a decent pitcher to an elite pitcher.

-

Increase your running speed here:

Improve 60 Yard Dash Time

The reason why I got so many NCAA Division I baseball college scholarships was because my speed.  Speed kills. If you are an average hitter and fielder, but have speed, coaches will choose you over others because of your quickness.  I ran a 6.50 60 yard dash as a junior in High School and that alone had dozens of letters from college coaches coming in the mail on a daily basis.

-

Be a homerun hitter here:

Become A Power Hitter

Coaches and scouts always talk about a batter’s “POP.”  For some players the ball can absolutely FLY off the bat, while others can seem to get that extra “pop” to hit the long ball.  Use the above link and become the power hitter you can be.

-

Train the right way here:

Baseball Workouts

Baseball workout are COMPLETELY different from any other sport.  A lot of baseball players ruin their careers because they lift like football players.  I’m one of those.  By doing bench press incorrectly, I really messed up both my shoulders.  I should have been using dumbbells instead of a straight bar, but no one told me. Use the above link and learn the proper baseball workouts to improve your game and prevent injury.

-

Build your forearms fast here:

Best Forearm Training

Having strong forearms can improve all areas of your game.  Pitching, Hitter, Fielding, whatever the scenario, building your forearm strength is crucial.  Learn the best forearm workouts with the above link.

-

365 Day Pitching Program here:

Year Long Pitching Program

To be an elite pitcher, your training cannot be seasonal.  Some natural athletes can get by being seasonal, but all the best pitchers train year-round and the results are proven.

-

The best speed and agility workouts here:

Speed & Agility Workouts

Baseball speed is totally different from any other sport.  It’s not a marathon like soccer.  It’s short bursts of speed around the bases and from your position to the ball.  Get quicker and better reaction with the above workout link.  Like I said before, speed kills.  These workouts help!

-

Get fast bat speed here:

Improve Bat Speed

Hitting the long ball isn’t necesarrily about being big and strong.  There are plenty of power hitters that are small, but have tremendous BAT SPEED!  Bat speed is key, especially as the pitching gets faster and faster.

Whether you take my baseball advice or not, I wish you luck!

Try the “Weekend Pass” and I promise you will not be disappointed!

PS.  This is the same system that people like Floyd Mayweather use… Oh and he only won $90,000 on the Patriots last week and even more money with his other NFL Picks… Too easy

As someone once told me:  ”Baseball is a religion.  Fenway Park is the church.  Don’t let the priests and alter boys get in the way.”  Well, the priests and alter boys are fucking up my season!  I can’t stand the ownership and management, and it’s effecting all Boston Red Sox fans, not just me.

All of Boston is disappointed with the current situation: Last place in the AL East.  We’re below .500 and playing like we don’t give a shit.  Checking out the standings, I remember when it used to be reversed.  Tampa Bay (Devil) Rays and Baltimore Orioles stuck in the basement, Toronto Bluejays stuck in ‘No Man’s Land’ in the middle, and then the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox battling at the top.  What happened!?  Who’s is to blame?!

Well there’s two options: (1) Players OR (2) Management.  That’s it.  Pick one.  Don’t give me that “both” crap.  If you had to pick a side, who are you going with?  I’m going with Management.  I understand you can say the players are the ones actually playing the game, or the players aren’t motivated, or trying… Whatever you want to say, those things can be fixed by MANAGEMENT.  I’m a HUGE Francona fan and supporter so maybe that’s why I’m really trashing Ownership, but Bobby V, Ben Cherington, and Larry Lucchino are garbage.  We have the 3rd highest payroll in the MLB and these are the current standings.  I said I was going to give them 30 days before I made a serious judgement.  Well, times up.  We’re 12-18 with no signs of life on this team.

I understand Bobby V has nothing to do with the collapse last September, BUT he is in control now and can right this ship.  Players aren’t motived? Motivate them! Light a fucking fire under their ass.  Get tossed from a game.  DO SOMETHING.  Right now Alan Alda, I mean Media Whore, I mean Bobby V is just sitting in the back of the dugout, arms crossed with 1 finger on his chin going: “I have no idea what to do right now or with this team in general.”  He’s just an old man that can only do media and can’t connect with players like he used to.  I think the best way to really dive into this debate is showing how it all started on Facebook:

I found myself rooting against the Red Sox the other night.  How the fuck does that happen?  I’ve been raised a Red Sox die-hard.  I remember Mike “The Gator” Greenwell rolling me and my best friend a baseball in the early 90′s when we were sitting on the Sox dugout at our 1st game ever.  Since then I’ve paid attention to every little move the team has made and rocked their gear like it was tattooed on me.  The other night I was rooting for the Kansas City Royals to win… Felix Doubront shouldn’t have been in the game and Bobby V watched him walk batters and give up hits like he had money on the Royals and was trying to loose the game!  I wanted Alex Gordon to hit a grand slam to tie it and then win.  I’m so embarrassed with this team and to call myself a Red Sox fan right now…

This season is going to suck no matter what.  If the Red Sox continue to suck and don’t make the playoffs, it’ll be ok.  Management will change.  Bobby V, the ass clown media whore will be gone, and we can start fresh next year.  If the Red Sox rally and make the playoffs, I’ll be happy for the players, but it’ll suck because management might stay the same.  I just don’t see a possible positive outcome this season.

I think some of this has to do with the atmosphere created at Fenway Park for the 100th Who Gives A Shit Anniversary.

Fenway isn’t the same Fenway that it used to be.  It used to be filled with die-hard fans that were there to only root for the home team.  Now, a trip to Fenway Park is like going on a family picnic or to an amusement park.  A bunch of “pink hats” pretending to be fans, not knowing anything about the team or players, and just showing up to sing “Sweet Caroline” in the 8th inning.  I don’t understand the random tradition of singing that song in the 8th.  It’s fun I guess, but what if the Red Sox are losing?  Pink Hats don’t care!  They’ll sing no matter what the situation is.  That song should be played (if it must) only when the Red Sox are winning.  I know the song or the constant “wave” going around the park doesn’t have anything to do with them winning or losing, but it’s pissing me off and it’s not helping me root for this team.

Who are you blaming for all this?

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Check out my picks for the weekend… Saints, Patriots, Texans, Giants (with the spreads, not straight up)

Not only is everyone talking about Tim Tebow, but “Tebowing” is one of the newest and coolest things happening.  I actually wrote a blog about it earlier when the trend first happened.  I don’t want to talk about Tim Tebow, or Tebowing though.  I want to talk about my new website that I just launched this morning called: GRONKING – The website is dedicated to Patriots fans and fans of tight end Rob Gronkowski.  The platform allows people to share their photos of themselves or friends “Gronking.”

Basically it’s a Rob Gronkowski touchdown spike impression.  You don’t have to spike a football though.  It could literally be ANYTHING!  I have people submitting Gronking photos of them spiking their dog, car, XBox, even one of their children!  It’s funny stuff and I just wanted to share the link.  CLICK HERE to check out the new website.

Here are some examples of what Gronking is:.

GRONKING.CO

Just because Tebow is a religious man, doesn’t mean you have to be.   So next time you are struggling through the first 3 and 1/2 quarters of a boring Broncos game and waiting for that inevitable final drive when Tebow teams up with God to inexplicably score the winning touchdown, try out this drinking game to pass the time.

5. Drink every time an announcer uses any form of the word ”win” to describe Tebow:  In NFL announcers’ defense, try and explain to a co-worker why Tebow is good at football without using any form of the word “win”.  It’s impossible.

4. Drink every time Tebow’s lack of accuracy is mentioned: This will be the announcers’ main topic of conversation for the first 3 and 1/2 quarters of the game, so you should get good and drunk waiting for his final drive.

3. Finish your beer every time he points to the sky:  Don’t worry.  Tebow doesn’t score too many touchdowns.  Because if he did, this rule could get really dangerous.

2. Finish your beer every time his name is used as a verb (i.e. “Tebowed” or “Tebowing”)

1. If any player strikes the Tebow pose (aka Tebowing), the last person to strike the Tebow pose must finish everyone else’s beer: Go to the bathroom or answer your cell at your own risk.  An opposing defensive lineman is just one sack away from striking the Tebow pose in celebration.

Might have to try out the “TeBREW” while playing this… Click HERE

He’s still tweeting, so we know he’s alive, but where the hell is he on the football field?  Remember that time Ochocinco caught a touchdown (with the Bengals of coarse), went to the sideline, and then put on that “Future H.O.F 20??” Jacket?  Yeah, that would look great on him right about now.

Being a wide receiver is tough because you aren’t in control.  You can run the best routes in the world, but so many things come into play:

1. Are you open?

2. Have the linemen giving the quarterback enough time to throw the football?

3. Has the quarterback even seen you? (There’s usually more than 1 WR)

4. Does the quarterback TRUST you?

5. If the ball is thrown to you, is it an accurate pass from the quarterback?

Ochocinco plays for the New England Patriots.  That means his production is really in Tom Brady’s hands.  EVERYONE is blaming Ochocinco for not contributing, but the truth is that he’s out of his control.  He can study the playbook more, work harder in practice, sure, but on Sunday’s it’s all in Brady’s hands.  Let’s be honest:  The Patriots are 10-3 and haven’t used Ochocinco.  As a Patriots fan I’m not complaining, but I think if you have a weapon, and you’re PAYING A LOT for that weapon, you should try to use it once and awhile.  By that, I mean more than 1 pass per game.  The stats don’t lie:

Chad Ochocinco stats with PatriotsThat’s pretty terrible right there… I mean for $6.35 million, those numbers SUCK!  Here’s reality:

$488,461.54 per catch

$27,850.88 per yard

I don’t blame Ochocinco for this at all.  Everyone is blaming him, but I blame Tom Brady.  Granted the Patriots have plenty of weapons, including breakout Tight-end Rob Gronkowski, but 13 catches in 13 games?  C’mon Brady, pass to the man.

I’ll close with the quote: “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it!”  I think that’s the way Patriots fans are looking at it.  Don’t pass to him because we don’t need him.  All I’m saying is, don’t jump on Ochocinco when it comes to production because he’s not getting the minutes and certainly not getting targeted by Brady.  I think when the Patriots less expect it, he will come up big… in the playoffs.
